    Investigating the impact of behavioral factors on supply network efficiency:insights from banking’s corporate bond networks

    This paper highlights the role of behavioral factors for efficiency measurement in supply networks. To this aim, behavioral issues are investigated among interrelations between decision makers involved in corporate bond service networks. The corporate bond network was considered in three consecutive stages, where each stage represents the relations between two members of the network: issuer-underwriter, underwriter-bank, and bank-investor. Adopting a multi-method approach, we collected behavioral data by conducting semi-structured interviews and applying the critical incident technique. Financial and behavioral data, collected from each stage in 20 corporate bond networks, were analyzed using fuzzy network data envelopment analysis to obtain overall and stage-wise efficiency scores for each network. Sensitivity analyzes of the findings revealed inefficiencies in the relations between underwriters-issuers, banks-underwriters, and banks-investors stemming from certain behavioral factors. The results show that incorporating behavioral factors provides a better means of efficiency measurement in supply networks

    A bi-objective score-variance based linear assignment method for group decision making with hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets

    Decision makers usually prefer to express their preferences by linguistic variables. Classic fuzzy sets allowed expressing these preferences using a single linguistic value. Considering inevitable hesitancy of decision makers, hesitant fuzzy linguistic term sets allowed them to express individual evaluation using several linguistic values. Therefore, these sets improve the ability of humans to determine believes using their own language. Considering this feature, in this paper a method upon linear assignment method is proposed to solve group decision making problems using this kind of information, when criteria weights are known or unknown. The performance of the proposed method is illustrated in a numerical example and the results are compared with other methods to delineate the models efficiency. Following a logical and well-known mathematical logic along with simplicity of execution are the main advantages of the proposed method

    Effective factors of implementing efficient supply chain strategy on supply chain performance

    Nowadays, the importance of supply chain management and its effect on business performance is undeniable. Boosting competitive environment makes every single firm adopt an assignable supply chain strategy. This study is one of the rare practical researches that recognize key factors related to the application of a successful and efficient supply chain strategy. So far, many researchers have conducted studies on responsive supply chain strategy; but in this study, it is sought to focus on efficient supply chain strategies due to increasing need for organizations to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Structural equation modelling using SmartPLS software is used to examine the research assumptions. Analysis of the structural model showed that there is a positive relationship between implementation of efficient supply chain strategy with supply chain performance; therefore the main research hypothesis is confirmed. Research revealed internal integration, top management support and information technology as efficient supply chain characteristics that have positive effects on supply chain performance. To reduce costs of implementation of efficient supply chain strategy, it is necessary to invest in factors that influence supply chain performance positively

    A complex proportional assessment method for group decision making in an interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy environment

    Multi-criteria decision making is an implicational field that concerns with selecting or designing the best scenarios among a finite set of scenarios based on a finite set of criteria. Different methods and techniques for handling this issue have been proposed. Complex proportional assessment is an analytical tool for solving multi-criteria decision making problems. Originally, the COPRAS method has been developed for decision making under a deterministic environment. Since uncertainty is an unavoidable property of decision making due to a lack of knowledge, this paper suggests an extended form of the COPRAS method used for group decision making problems in an uncertain environment where such uncertainty is captured through a generalized form of fuzzy sets - the so called interval valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets. An algorithmic scheme for the COPRAS-IVIF method has been introduced thus examining its application with reference to two numerical examples. It seems that the recommended framework of COPRAS-IVIF can be satisfactorily implemented in decision making problems under ambiguous and ill-defined conditions

    Export promotion programs are incentives to increase the participation of companies in international markets. On the other hand, governments try to help exporting companies with developing their goal markets. Therefore, for this purpose, many different programs have been created. To show the effectiveness of these programs, the paper refers to stepwise DEA and grey incidence analysis. Finally, the article determines a unified ranking of the applied programs that can be used by decision makers for resource allocation considering different types of programs based on their effectiveness

    Development of fuzzy Artificial Intelligence and Multi-Objective planning Model to Optimize the Portfolio of Investment Companies

    Proper management and optimal allocation of financial resources will increase gross national product and growth, create jobs and increase public welfare. The purpose of this study is to present an investment strategy that has tried to pave the way for the development of the investing company in the financial markets. Therefore, the forthcoming research can be considered as applied in terms of purpose. Also, considering that in the present research, mathematical modeling, modeling, artificial intelligence, etc. are used and the optimization of the investor company's portfolio is evaluated with the proposed model, so it is a quantitative and descriptive research. This study evaluated the performance of the proposed model in three modes: prudent, moderate and risky investor company. The results showed that for all three cases, the proposed strategy performs significantly better than the market index and other previous strategies. At the end of the investment period, the risky portfolio was more valuable than other portfolios. On the other hand, a prudent portfolio has achieved a more stable and stable return. These results revealed that the proposed fuzzy programming is able to reflect the characteristics and desires of the investor company in the portfolio composition

    Fuzzy belief structure based VIKOR method: an application for ranking delay causes of Tehran metro system by FMEA criteria

    Public transport is a critical part of civilization in this decade. The amount of money invested and the criticality of transferring people in an acceptable time and without any conflict made it a challenging problem for managers, especially in metropolises. Absolutely, making effective decisions in this area requires considering different aspects. Waiting time is a key criterion in apprising quality of public transport. In this paper, a real world case study of ranking causes of delay in Tehran (Iran) metro system is solved by developing multi attribute group decision-making VIšeKriterijumska Optimizacija I KOmpromisno Rešenje (in Serbian, VIKOR) method under uncertainty, where this uncertainty is captured by Fuzzy Belief Structures (FBS). The obtained results are then compared with a previously proposed Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method with FBSs. The results show that human related issues, along with the problems related to line and transportation system are the most important causes of delay. The obtained results of the problem seem acceptable for decision makers

    International collaboration formation in entrepreneurial food industry: evidence of an emerging economy

This collaboration seems so necessary in the food industry as a major contributor to environmental, social and economic problems. This paper aims to identify, analyse the influential network relationship and prioritise the key success factors (KSFs) of international collaboration formation in the entrepreneurial food industry with a case study on Iran's emerging economy. Design/methodology/approach To identify a list of KSFs, a qualitative method, literature review, is initially used. A quantitative method, fuzzy-Delphi, then is employed to finalise the main KSFs based on the entrepreneurial food industry experts' opinion. To analyse the causal relationship, and prioritise the KSFs, a fuzzy decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL)-analytic network process (ANP) methodology, i.e. FDANP, is applied. At the first stage, the cause–effect diagram of KSFs is extracted using fuzzy DEMATEL and then, the KSFs weights and priorities are evaluated using a fuzzy ANP. Findings The results illustrate that the characteristics of effective development workers are the leading dimension of a successful international collaboration that directly affects other dimensions. On the other hand, increased marketing and trading is the most important KSF that is directly related to international entrepreneurial collaboration team capabilities and professionalism. The leading and casual role of team members also plays a vital role in strategic and communication issues affecting the collaboration success, e.g. market research and new product development. Availability of financial resources and the ability of partners in continuous financing is also a crucial and required factor for a successful collaboration. Originality/value Using an extensive review of the literature to extract the KSFs of international entrepreneurial collaboration and finalising them using a fuzzy-Delphi method and examining the cause-effect relations between them, as well as prioritising the KSFs are the main contributions of this paper

    Causal modelling of failure fears for international entrepreneurs in tourism industry: a hybrid Delphi-DEMATEL based approach

The Publisher's final version can be found by following the DOI link.Abstract Purpose This paper aims to recognise and identify fears of failure in the international entrepreneurship ecosystem and find the effects of these fears on each other to reduce these increasing effects and minimise the mental barriers for potential entrepreneurs. Therefore, this research is beneficial to strengthen international entrepreneurial personality and to reduce the shadows of fears on entrepreneurs’ minds. To address this purpose the international tourism industry has been investigated in the emerging economy of Iran. Design/methodology/approach This paper is organised based on experts' opinions, and then factors are identified by literature review and are finalised through the Delphi method with a panel of practical and academic experts. These fears are categorised using a questionnaire and factor analysis (FA) technique. The respondents were entrepreneurship students and tourism entrepreneurs. Subsequently, the effect and importance of fears of failure are scored and ranked by some experts. These fears were analysed through decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) method. The results presented the effects of fears of failure in the international entrepreneurial in the tourism industry and the relationship amongst them. Findings The first two fears are respectively “fears of future” which are caused by the unclear situation; and “fear of losing credit” that is due to the importance of “personal relationships” in Iranians culture. As pointed out by results, “fear of future” is the most effective group of factors that may lead to other fears too. This fear seems important in the international entrepreneurial tourism industry because of future ambiguity. Originality/value This study indicates the relations between groups of fears and offers some practical and applicable solutions to reduce these effects. To the best knowledge of the authors, analysing the relationship between fears amongst the entrepreneurs has not been investigated previously

    Performance Evaluation of Medical Academic Libraries Based on DEA Approach

    Medical academic libraries are required to exemplify and quantify the value of their services to their users and parent organizations. Using the Data Envelopment Approach (DEA) technique, this study reports and discusses the efficiency measurement of the 77 academic libraries in Type1 medical sciences universities in Iran. Eleven (11) input and outputs variables were selected to measure the efficiency and performance of the libraries. The selected variables were: Total volumes held, net volumes added during the research period, number of professional staff, and number of supporting staff (service, security, etc.). The total number of full-time students enrollment, full-time instructional faculties, total personal expenditures (professional and supporting staff), area of the libraries, library spaces, computers, and seating capacities. As representative variables of the services libraries provide to their users, we have selected as outputs opening hours per week, the number of registered readers/members (students, faculty, etc.), circulation transactions, and ‌the number of reader visits or attendance. The input-oriented BCC model analyzed libraries' efficiency and benchmarked each inefficient unit by determining and introducing similar efficient units in terms of services and multiple parameters. Out of the 77 libraries analyzed, 30 libraries were efficient, and 47 were ranked as inefficient. By addressing the performance details of each of the introduced units as a benchmark, the finding of this study can help the gatekeeper of these universities to plan and modify their library work plans to improve performance and achieve full efficiency.https://dorl.net/dor/20.1001.1.20088302.2022.20.2.16.1
